Skin Cancer Treatment

Doctor-led diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, focused on early detection and minimally invasive care.

Why Early Detection Matters

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Most skin cancers are highly treatable when caught early — but they can become serious if left undiagnosed.

Regular skin checks help identify suspicious lesions before they progress, allowing for simpler, less invasive treatment. Patients with a personal or family history of skin cancer, fair skin, significant sun exposure, or many moles are at higher risk and should have their skin examined annually.

Why Early Detection Matters

Our Approach

Every skin check is conducted by a doctor with formal training in skin cancer medicine. We use dermoscopy — a specialised magnification technique — to examine moles and lesions in detail, identifying features that aren't visible to the naked eye.

Where treatment is needed, your doctor will discuss all options with you clearly. Treatment may include:

  • Cryotherapy (freezing) for superficial lesions
  • Topical treatments for early sun damage
  • Surgical excision with margin assessment
  • Advanced surgical repair, including flap and graft techniques on cosmetically sensitive areas (face, nose, ears)

Our priority is removing the cancer completely while preserving the appearance and function of the surrounding tissue.

What to Expect at a Skin Check

A comprehensive skin check typically takes 20–30 minutes. Your doctor will:

  • Discuss your medical history, sun exposure, and any concerns you have
  • Examine your skin from head to toe using both visual inspection and dermoscopy
  • Document any suspicious lesions for monitoring or further investigation
  • Discuss findings and any recommended next steps before you leave

You'll receive clear advice on what to monitor at home and when to return for follow-up. No referral is required.
